What this site is

SimulationM8 is an open access library of simulation models used in surgical and dental training. It is educational material for students and clinicians. Nothing on this site is clinical advice for the care of an individual patient, and no model listed here is a medical device.

What an entry does and does not claim

Every entry links to its source, or states plainly that it has no published source behind it. Entries carrying the appraised badge have been read against a CASP checklist, given a level of evidence and a Kirkpatrick level, and each one states whether that reading was made from the full text or from the abstract alone. Entries without the badge are catalogued but not yet appraised. An appraisal summarises published work and is not a substitute for reading the source yourself.

Cost bands are quoted in whatever currency the source paper used, and are never converted. Where a paper states no price at all, the entry says so rather than guessing. No manufacturer pays to appear here, and commercial systems are appraised on the same terms as a model built from an orange.

Where the data comes from

Candidate literature is discovered through PubMed and OpenAlex. Images appear only where the source licence permits reuse, with attribution and a link to the original. If you believe something here is misattributed or wrongly licensed, tell us and it will be removed while we check.
